We really had a great run of movies this year, with only a couple that we didn’t enjoy. Even though we rated them all a little differently, it’s hard to pick a clear favorite.
Only Lovers Left Alive was really beautiful, but so many lines from The Trip to Italy have stuck with us, and What We Do in the Shadows had such an amazing, straight-faced introduction from the director about his “documentary” that the whole movie just sparkled. Perhaps it wins the “Grabbers” award for best festival experience?
Pretty much you can’t go wrong with any of the movies we saw this year. (Other than Cooties – so viscerally, disgustingly graphic that we actually felt sick.) Though it helps if you like vampires/zombies. Definitely was a theme this year!
